An introduction to GESTALT Therapy in theory and practice

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic approach, it is existential, experimental and experiential. Gestalt as an acknowledged integrative development approach is worldwide used in therapy, coaching, counsseling and training.

German word "Gestalt" is referring to perception of things in their entirety rather than as separate elements - persons body, mind and phenomenal field are seen as inseparable.

Experimentation is central in gestalt therapy, as dialogical approach to deepen one′s awareness in the contact HERE and NOW.

Three pillars of gestalt therapy are:

  1. field theory (considering a persons experience in relation to their entire situation)
  2. phenomenology (studying subjective experience without interpretation)
  3. dialogue (meeting with the world and other in all our humanness)

Gestalt therapy was founded by Frederick ′Fritz′ Perls, Laura Perls and Paul Goodman in 1951.

This one-day course is open to all who want to explore gestalt approach as a professional further training.

Introduction day contains:

  • Theory: basic concepts and principles of gestalt
  • Practice: opportunity to explore the theory through different experiments
  • Information: about further possibilities personally and professionally
